“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” — Matthew 5:14–16

Our History

In April 1969, several families got together and purchased a beautiful little church building located at Templeton and Tamm Streets in Combes, Texas.  The quaint, but modest building was purchased and converted into a Pentecostal property. Shortly after the move, there were many challenges that the small congregation faced, but God blessed, the congregation persevered, and a growing church began to emerge.

An undeniable corner stone of our church was the founding member James Eubanks for his leadership between pastors and because of his vast knowledge of the word.

In 1993, Pastor George De La Garza came to the very small but dedicated group of people at Faith Assembly of God. From that humble beginning, together with God’s help, Pastor George De La Garza along side his wife have built the church into a stronger and exponentially growing body.

Due to his unquenching devotion for God, loving care for the church family, his burden for lost souls, and his endless hours of labor, Faith Assembly of God has enjoyed tremendous growth.

In June 2003, ground breaking took place and construction began for the new building.  Through prayer, the church saw God deliver victory as the construction was completed in March of 2005, and the building was dedicated and consecrated for the work of the Lord.  Everyone gave generously of their time, talents, labor, and finances; today they reap the blessings.
